New for 2018: Pre-Register for the St. Jude Ride!

For those planning on doing the St. Jude Ride, please pre-register using this form! Hopefully this will help streamline the check-in process and get you going to the fun stuff quicker! Not to mention, its much easier to do when there’s no horse in your hand! Form can be either mailed back to me at 510 Orchard Ln Orwigsburg, PA 17961 or emailed to stemmlerequine@gmail.com along with noted attachments. Please submit by April 15th so I have time to get your ride packet together and so nothing gets lost in the mail! Donations raised after you submit the form will still be collected and credited to you on ride day. Any questions, just ask. Thanks and looking forward to a great ride again this year!

This will be the 6th year Stemmler Stein Equine, LLC will be hosting a Saddle Up for St. Jude event to benefit St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital! Over the last 6 years we have raised over $19,200 for the kids at St. Jude. I am very excited to get this event up and running again for 2018!

TENTATIVE EVENT SCHEDULE:
10am Volunteers Meet
11am Riders may start arriving
12pm Ride Starts
*1pm Last Rider Out*
2pm Pony Rides start
2:30 On-Farm Egg Hunt Starts, other kids games

Please visit our fundraising page at http://fundraising.stjude.org/briarrose to register and start raising money for the hospital!
I will have envelopes as well to help with fundraising if you wish to go door to door or in your workplace. If you need one mailed please email me at stemmlerequine@gmail.com. We are asking that everyone raise at least $25 in order to participate in the event. Of course, the more the better! Many thanks to our top fundraiser last year, Denise Jones, who raised over $900. I have upped our event goal to $5000, which we beat last year ($5200!). I think we can smash it this year!

IMPORTANT REQUIREMENTS FOR INCOMING HORSES: ALL HORSES MUST SHOW COGGINS DATED WITHIN 1 YEAR AND CERTIFICATE OF FLU/RHINO VACCINATION DATED WITHIN 6 MONTHS. LETTER FROM VETERINARIAN WILL BE ACCEPTED IN LIEU OF FLU/RHINO CERTIFICATE. NO INCOMING HORSES WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE BARN. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP KEEPING OUR HORSES HEALTHY.

ALL RIDERS MUST WEAR HELMETS! Thank you for your coorperation as we strive to keep everyone safe.

PLEASE REGISTER ON THE ST JUDE WEBSITE BY APRIL 15! WWW.FUNDRAISING.STJUDE.ORG/BRIARROSE. We will have plenty of parking but I’d still like an idea of how many trailers to expect so we can best prepare.

Activities at this year’s event will include the Trail Ride itself, which will be about a 2 hour loop (at a walk…but you can set your own pace), a 50/50 Cash Poker Ride on the Trail (additional donation), an Easter Egg Hunt (on trail…and something closer to the farm for the kids), a Chinese Auction (donations welcome!) and Pony Rides (yes! All those munchkins not quite ready for the trail ride can still ride!).

I am also in need of volunteers! It gets a little chaotic on event day, so I will need the help! Please let me know if you are willing to help with any of the following:
-Parking! Need a few adults for this.
– Traffic Control- where we have road crossings
– Checkpoint Guard- Scattered throughout the trail to make sure everyone is OK…and to help with the poker ride and other games!
– Runners (to check on other volunteers, refresh them with drinks, etc. …kids would be great here!)
– Event Awareness- I could use some helpers before the event to spread flyers, notify radio stations, etc.
-Event set-up and trail marking
– We also need donations of items for the silent auction and donations of food items/ baked goods to sell to benefit St. Jude.

More jobs will pop up I’m sure, so if you can help let me know. Please email me at stemmlerequine@gmail.com!

Looking forward to the event! Hope to see you there

New Farm is Open!

After a year of hard work, our farm is finally open for business!  We have a newly renovated 10 stall barn and a 120’x70′ indoor arena.  There are trails to hack out around the farm in addition to access to quiet township roads to trail ride.  Lots of turnout options ensure horses get out as much as possible.

There are several lesson horses available for both English and Western.  Dressage and a balanced seat is my specialty!  Lessons are either a full hour or a half hour.  Group discounts are available for 2 or more riders.

We have limited openings for Full and Partial Training Board.  Full training in an intensive 5-6 training lessons or lessons a week.  Partial is 12 lessons or training sessions a month.  The partial package is our most popular.  Most people opt to do 2 lessons a week, and then have me ride their horse once a week so that both horse and rider stay well tuned!  Please inquire about prices and availability.

We are looking forward to an exciting 2016!  We hope you will be part of it.

Sincerely,

Jess and Jake Stein
